Siblings Create Fund in Parent's HonorAt last year's Annual Meeting Joe Kaech, Denny Kaech, and Patty (Kaech) Gwerder presented a contribution of $7,500 to the club in the name of their parents, Joe and Lena Kaech, for a Kitchen improvement fund. Joe was a charter member, Treasurer and Trustee for the club and his favorite project was creating the beer garden. Lena was a Trustee, the club’s only female Vice President, and spent a lot of time in the club’s kitchen. They wish this fund to be created so money will be available when it is needed. The three of them will oversee it and have the authority to approve projects. They requested a plaque to be created for their parents (and that they would not be required to do any of the labor on the projects). A large round of applause followed in acceptance of their terms.
Fund Match Successful! Patti had announced that they are willing to match up to an additional $2500 for this Kitchen Fund if anyone wanted to donate toward this cause. Due to generous response from our membership, we have surpassed the additional donation requirement and have received the matching funds. Swiss Miss Candidates - Apply before June 1stThe deadline to submit your application to be a Swiss Miss candidate is June 1st, 2012. Swiss Miss candidates will be issued their buttons for the competition at this year's Schwingfest. Please contact us if you are interested.
